Author Event: James Wade

  • Seven and One Books 1138 North 2nd Street Abilene United States (map)

You don't want to miss this so we are giving you lots of notice to get it on your calendar! James Wade, easily one of the nicest and hilarious people I have ever met, is coming to little 'ole Abilene. You guys this is BIG! James' new novel releases on Tuesday, Aug. 20th and he will be in store that very week on Saturday, Aug. 24th to sign books, chat about the book and meet people. James is a superb storyteller and we always feel confident hand selling his books to readers who love the writing of Flannery O'Connor, Larry McMurty, Cormac McCarthy and the like. I've struggled to adequately articulate what he does so well, but I think it is harnessing the power of story to flesh out characters who move the reader to address the larger philosophical questions of our time and self-reflect. But not in an instructive, preachy, contrived way. Maybe. Even that feels like a poor description.
